Kid’s Corner: Picture Books in 3-D!

Ever wanted to climb right into a picture book?  Now you can!  February through May, the Portland Children’s Museum’s “Storyland: a trip through childhood favorites” turns seven picture books into real life environments.  Engaging hands-on fun for kids, early literacy information for parents, the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree, what could be better?

Explore the books before (and after) your adventure into Storyland.  The book environments are based on Abuela by Arthur Dorros, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, Tuesday by David Wiesner and Where’s Spot by Eric Hill.

Plus – the Portland Children’s Museum is a Cultural Pass to Adventure destination available through your library.

Share the books.  Explore Storyland.  And tell us which environment you liked best!
